Union Metal supports towns and cities by producing the high-quality main street lighting solutions in its Nostalgia Series. This collection of lighting and signage poles includes decorative and antique designs dating back to the early 1900s. In fact, many cities and towns are currently installing decorative lighting using the exact same design molds that Union Metal created for them nearly a century ago!

Working closely with the National Main Street Center, Union Metal updates these designs to meet modern standards, restrictions, and strength/corrosion resistance expectations. This successful blending of up-to-date technology and authentic “old-world” designs enables Main Street communities to create distinct and enjoyable environments.

Historical Archives

In the interest of helping communities find the right main street lighting solution, Union Metal has a Historical Archive which serves as a valuable resource to city planners, historical societies and other specifiers. These comprehensive records identify over 4000 cities that installed Union Metal poles prior to 1930. Through the Archives, city planners can determine the exact poles that were previously in place, and can order brand-new poles based on these designs for their current revitalization efforts.

Most Historical Archive listings include the original order quantity and Union Metal catalog number. Photography of the site is included where available.
